Rebecca: Self-Love Movement

Alyx is a Bentonville boudoir photographer who believes that every body is beautiful and worthy of love. She started the Sheer Boudoir Self-Love Movement to help normalize normal bodies and to encourage women all over the Northwest Arkansas area to share their stories and journeys to self-love and acceptance. The stories shared are unique to each individual and are each woman’s own words.

Rebecca is an “almost 40” mom of two (a 19- and 16-year-old). She joined this movement so that she could promote body positivity and feel beautiful doing it!

Rebecca defines self-love as “feeling good in your own skin… not caring what anyone else thinks about you, being able to put on whatever outfit you like, and rocking it.”

“I’ve just found [self-love] within the past year. I struggled with my weight, with my stretch marks, with my rolls, with [whether] I had too much or too little, and I have finally found love for myself this year. It’s empowering, it’s enriching, and [I] just… [I’m] happy with life.”

When asked what she would say to a person who is struggling to find that pure love of self, Rebecca said, “Stop comparing yourself to other people. Look at yourself, find every little amazing thing that your body has done for you and worship that. We as women spend way too much time comparing ourselves to everyone else and no two people are the same. We are all completely different and we are all fucking amazing.
